Queens Day
in the Netherlands and Amsterdam
On April 30 everybody in the Netherlands has a
day off,
because the birthday of Queen Beatrix
is celebrated with a big national street party.
This webpage wants to give an impression
of what is happening in The Netherlands
on that festive day.
Early in the morning many households
put out the flag with the Orange pennant.
Orange is the color of the Queen
and also her surname.
